Hidden No More VR

for the Morehead Planetarium

Technical Designer / Technical Artist

The goal of this project was to create immersive virtual reality experiences revolving around certain scientists in history. This project is currently displayed and playable by anyone visiting the planetarium and science center. Because of this, the experience needed to be designed in a way that is accessible to all individuals, especially those that may have never experienced virtual reality before. Based off previous testing, we thought that using the Oculus Quest’s hand tracking technology would allow for the experience to not only be more immersive for the user, but also more intuitive. I did all of the gameplay for Kamāl al-Dīn al-Fārisī’s section of the virtual reality experience as well as quite a bit of optimization/profiling to ensure the experience remained as performant as possible.
